(1986) I attended catholic school starting from age 5 through high school. I was othered from the start, since I was the only one that was not catholic or white—it effected me deeply. This was a play of the stations of the cross in 3rd grade. All the kids raised their hands wanting to play a certain role—from Jesus to Mary. I raised my hand knowing my role and told the teacher I wanted to be Judas and she agreed. I am in my fathers robe, 3rd from the right.
